Ingredients:
1 ½ c sugar
½ c shortening
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
Mix together.
Then add:
1 c buttermilk (or sour milk + 1 c milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
2 c flour
Mix well.
Then add:
½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
Mix all together.
Then add:
4 cups rhubarb (or any fruit)
Mix and then place in prepared 13x9x2 pan.
Top with:
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 c sugar
1/3 c oatmeal
1/3 c nuts
Mix and place on top.
Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
